Javiera Gart, Santiago de Chile, 1995.
A large part of Javirera's life was spent in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studied and
began her artistic journey as a self-taught artist. Her following years in Mexico led her to discover muralism, the first discipline to shape
her path. However, she currently focuses on studio painting and smaller formats, where
she explores a more personal and technical approach. She lives and travels through different countries, which allows her to keep developing
her work, drawing inspiration from local cultures and everyday experiences. Her practice
is strongly influenced by the female figure and the process of self-discovery.
Her artistic practice extends across Australia, Europe, North America, Asia and South
America, where she has participated in artist residencies and exhibitions. These diverse
contexts continue to inform and enrich her visual language.
